In a sign of growing bilateral relations, U.S. and Pakistani air force leaders discussed advancing cooperation and exploring avenues for joint training and technology exchange, Pakistan said.
Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of the Air Staff, undertook an official visit to the United States — the first by a serving PAF Air Chief in over a decade, Pakistan military’s media wing Inter Services Public Relations said.
During the visit, Air Chief Marshal called on Ms. Kelli L. Seybolt, Secretary of the Air Force (International Affairs), and General David W. Allvin, Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force, the ISPR said.
According to the statement, the discussions centered around advancing bilateral military cooperation, enhancing interoperability and exploring avenues of joint training and technology exchange.
The Pakistani Chief of the Air Staff highlighted the historic and multifaceted relationship between Pakistan and United States, particularly in areas of defense and security cooperation.
“The two sides also agreed upon continuation of high-level military engagements in the future through senior-level interactions. These interactions are deemed crucial for maintaining momentum in the ongoing cooperative endeavors in the areas of joint training, operational exercises and military exchange programs between the two nations.”
Trump: Asim Munir was extremely influential in stopping Pakistan-India war
The visit took place as the two countries strengthen bilateral relations.
Last month, President Donald Trump hosted Pakistan’s Army Chief General Asim Munir at the White House for a discussion on regional developments.
In recent weeks, U.S. top diplomat Marco Rubio has also had telephonic conversations with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the Middle East conflict between Iran and Israel. Last month, CENTCOM Chief praised Pakistan as a “phenomenal counterterrorism partner.”
Islamabad has also said it intends to nominate President Trump for 2026 Nobel Peace Prize for his role in stopping Pakistan-India conflict in May.

The ISPR said during the visit, Air Chief also met with Mr. Brown L. Stanley from the Bureau of Political-Military Affairs and Mr. Eric Meyer from the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs. “The meetings served as a forum to underscore Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional stability, its firm commitment to counterterrorism efforts and its nuanced perspective on the evolving geopolitical dynamics of South and Central Asia.”
The Pakistani Air Chief also interacted with prominent members of U.S. Congress.
“Emphasizing Pakistan’s status as a peace-loving nation, the Air Chief reaffirmed the country’s enduring sacrifices and notable operational achievements in the global war on terror, while also outlining Pakistan’s evolving security calculus in response to the rapidly shifting regional geopolitical landscape,” the military statement said.
