U.S. House of Representatives Thursday gave President Donald Trump a massive policy-shaping victory when it passed his $4.5 trillion Big Beautiful Bill after overcoming a raft of Democratic and internal GOP challenges.
The bill enables Trump to implement his second White House term agenda with massive tax breaks and spending cuts as the president gears up to celebrate the Fourth of July by fulfilling his campaign promises.
Trump is expected to sign the bill on Independence Day Friday.
President Trump welcomed the passage of the passage of the bill.
Trump cited June job numbers which beat expectations to create 147,000 new jobs.
He said despite inheriting challenges and a lot of people who should not have been here, his administration is performing well on the economic front.
The bill had faced opposition from GOP senators who objected to cuts to Medicaid and other programs.
The chamber approved the bill with a 218-214 vote after two Republicans joined Democrats in opposing the bill.
The bill would “make this country stronger, safer and more prosperous than ever before,” House Speaker Mike Johnson said.
Earlier, House Democratic leader Hakeem Jaffries made an eight hour and 44 minutes long speech on floor, criticizing it as “a crime scene” at the cost of health, and well-being of Americans.
Just took to the House Floor to speak in support of a country where everyone can afford to live the good life.
And in strong opposition to Trump’s One Big Ugly Bill that is devastating to everyday Americans.

The bill sprawls over 800 pages enacts controversial Medicaid cuts, ends solar energy tax credits, and allocates finances for defense and deportation programs.
The Senate had introduced a series of amendments to the earlier House version, piling on the challenges for Speaker Johnson to get the job done before July 4 deadline.
