POEM: “When I am not there as a whole”

Maybe, I am not there as a whole

and only exist in pieces now.

Reflected in relations

hiding in shadows,

lost in the present,

wandering in the past

the befores and the afters.

somewhere in between

the sunrise and the sunset.

The day begins and the night ends.

Love, like tides,

uproars and subsides

on the shore.

Or in the mayhem of waves

amid the noise of seagulls

or in the silence of the shells

in laughter or in tears.

On the edges of hope

depth of fears

in the solace of a prayer

not serene, nor tranquil

at peace, or in turmoil.

Not real, nor virtual

A thought, a sigh, a wish in your heart.

Don’t seek me in the light

feel me in the dark

maybe I exist in realms of imagination

Or in a garden of adulations

Wilting and growing again

in grains of sand slipping through fingers

The more you grasp

The more I slip away

Maybe one day I will be whole again

all the pieces melded

cracks filled with gold

stand up proudly

as no more a broken vase.

Would you hold me then?
